Liverpool star surpasses South American legends in Premier League

Liverpool's Argentinian Alexis Mac Allister has achieved a unique feat in Premier League history, becoming the first South American player to reach a market value of €100 million, according to the latest update from Transfermarkt. Mac Allister had an exceptional season with Liverpool, playing a key role in the team's Premier League title win. The Argentinian was distinguished by his excellent ball control, his significant influence on both offensive and defensive build-up play, and his tremendous physical effort in midfield under new coach Arne Slot. This brilliance culminated in a €10 million increase in his market value, bringing it to €100 million, a feat unmatched by any Latin American player in Premier League history. Over the years, several South American stars have come close to this figure without ever reaching it, with five players previously valued at €90 million, none of them breaking the €100 barrier. The most prominent of these was Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who reached this figure in the 2019/20 season, along with his former teammates Philippe Coutinho (2017/2018) and Roberto Firmino (2019/20). Last season, Julian Alvarez from Manchester City and Moises Caicedo from Chelsea joined the list, each valued at €90 million, although Caicedo regained this value in the latest update.
