Man City's plan to strengthen its ranks before the Club World Cup

Manchester City, led by Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, is seeking to complete a deal to sign Rayan Cherki, the star of French club Lyon, during the summer transfer window before the start of the 2025 Club World Cup. Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on his official account on the X platform: "Manchester City is in direct talks with Olympique Lyonnais regarding the Rayan Cherki deal." He added: "The value of the deal is expected to exceed 30 million euros, as Manchester City is confident of completing the deal by next week." The journalist, specializing in player transfer news, concluded: "Manchester City continues with its plan to participate in the Club World Cup, with the deals for Cherki and Reinders expected to be completed in the coming days." According to reports, French club Lyon hopes to receive at least 40 million euros in exchange for the services of Rayan Cherki, who recently received his first call-up to represent the French national team. It is worth noting that Manchester City is scheduled to participate in the next edition of the Club World Cup in Group G, which includes Italy's Juventus, Morocco's Wydad Casablanca, and the UAE's Al Ain.
