Zidane rejects a huge offer from the Saudi Roshn League

Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has rejected a hefty offer from the Saudi Professional League, despite its reported value reaching €100 million per season. According to French newspaper L'Equipe, the offer was for only one season, but was "politely" rejected by the French coach, who has been unemployed since leaving Real Madrid in June 2021. This rejection comes amid strong speculation that Zidane could take over as coach of the French national team, succeeding current coach Didier Deschamps, who announced his retirement after the 2026 World Cup. Speaking at an Adidas event, Zidane emphasized his strong attachment to the French national team, saying: "I feel like an integral part of the French national team, where I played and spent almost 12, 13, 14 years as a player." He added: "Of course, it's a dream. I can't wait." Saudi club Al Hilal was searching for a new coach following the departure of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, amid speculation about potential technical deals in the Saudi Roshen League.
