Chelsea makes history... why?

English club Chelsea overcame a lackluster first-half start to secure a resounding 4-1 victory over Spanish club Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final. This victory marked the London club's first trophy under new coach Enzo Maresca and underlined their determination to return strongly to the European stage. Despite Real Betis taking the lead through Moroccan Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in the first half, a period in which the Spanish side dominated, Chelsea turned the tables in the second half with a devastating attacking display, spearheaded by the brilliant Cole Palmer, who created two goals and played a significant role in deciding the match. Chelsea captain Reece James told TNT: "It's a great feeling. As the game progressed, we settled into it, and luckily we scored four goals in the second half. Coming into this competition, we felt we had to win it." Enzo Fernandez and Nicola Jackson scored for Chelsea, both assisted by Palmer, before Jadon Sancho and Moises Caicedo added the third and fourth goals, securing the English team's first continental title in years. James continued: "I think we didn't come through in the first half, but we came back strongly after the break. This is just the beginning. Next season we will be in the Champions League, and we are hungry for more success." Following this achievement, Chelsea is preparing to return to the Champions League next season, an important step in its ambitious project to develop its young squad and compete for major tournaments.
