New collaboration between Messi and Suarez!

From their iconic partnership on the pitch at Barcelona and Inter Miami, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez have partnered off the pitch for a new project. They announced the formation of Deportivo LSM, a club preparing to compete in Uruguay's fourth division. The club was originally founded in 2018 as Deportivo LS by Luis Suárez in Ciudad de la Costa, with the aim of supporting local talent, promoting social initiatives, and creating job opportunities in the community. Suárez announced the rebranding of the club to Deportivo LSM, adding an "M" in honor of Lionel Messi, who has officially joined as a partner in the project. In a video posted on his Instagram account, Suárez, 38, said: "Deportivo LS is a family project that began in 2018 and has grown significantly, with more than 3,000 members and an excellent infrastructure. That's why we decided to participate in the Uruguayan Football Association's competitions, at both the youth and professional levels." Suarez confirmed that Messi's joining represents an extension of their shared vision for football, saying: "I invited my friend to be a partner in Deportivo LSM Pro because it is the ideal place to continue what we started together." Messi, 37, expressed his happiness at joining the project, saying: "I thank Luis for giving me this opportunity and to be part of this project that he has worked on for years and that has developed significantly. I hope to contribute to its success and progress." According to media reports, Messi and Suarez will jointly oversee the club's operational operations, in addition to the appointment of a sporting director with extensive experience in local football.
