Barcelona renews Lamine Yamal's contract until 2031

Barcelona announced on Tuesday the renewal of promising star Lamine Yamal's contract until the summer of 2031, a move that reflects the club's commitment to continuing to rely on its La Masia graduates as part of its long-term sporting project. According to the club's official website, the new contract was signed at the club's offices, in the presence of president Joan Laporta, his first vice president Rafa Yuste, sporting director Deco, and a number of officials. Lamine, who began his career in Barcelona's academy at the age of seven, quickly made history by becoming one of the youngest and most influential players in the club's history. Since making his first-team debut in April 2023, at just 15 years old, he has played 106 matches, scoring 25 goals and providing 34 assists, achieving unprecedented numbers for his age. Last season, he played a prominent role in Barcelona's domestic treble, including the Spanish League, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. He also shone in El Clásico matches against Real Madrid, and was a decisive factor in four victories over their arch-rivals in various competitions. Not only has Lamine contributed to his achievements on the pitch, but he has also received global recognition, receiving prestigious awards, most notably the Golden Boy, the Kopa Trophy, and an honor from the Laureus World Awards. With this extension, Barcelona ensures that one of its most promising young talents will remain with the club until 2031, at a time when Yamal is seen as one of the rising stars of world football.
