Napoli prepares Conte's replacement

Italian club Napoli is close to finalizing an agreement with coach Massimiliano Allegri to take over the team's technical directorship, should Antonio Conte's departure be confirmed in the coming weeks. According to Football Italia, Napoli's management, headed by Aurelio De Laurentiis, has opened intensive lines of communication with Allegri, with the two parties communicating almost daily, in an attempt to close the deal quickly and ensure a strong replacement should the club's relationship with Conte end. The report indicated that Napoli is preparing a two-year offer, with an annual salary of up to €6 million, for the veteran Italian coach, who has not held a coaching position since leaving Juventus in May 2024. This move comes in light of Conte's diminishing chances of remaining in his position, despite De Laurentiis's serious attempts to convince him to continue with the team's technical project. Allegri has a distinguished record in Italian football, having previously coached AC Milan and Juventus. He succeeded Antonio Conte as manager of the Old Lady in 2014, leading the team to a series of domestic titles and reaching the Champions League final twice.
