French stars shine in La Liga

Frenchman Jules Kounde won his second La Liga title with Barcelona after the 2022-23 season. The player contributed significantly to this new achievement, as the French defender is the fourth-most capped player in La Liga this season under coach Hansi Flick, playing 32 matches, totaling 2,606 minutes, scoring two goals and providing three assists. The player (40 international caps) now has the same number of titles as several French stars in La Liga, most notably Ousmane Dembélé, Eduardo Camavinga, Samuel Umtiti, Claude Makelele, Thierry Henry, Jeremy Mathieu, and Raymond Kopa. However, he is still relatively far behind Karim Benzema and Eric Abiel, the two most decorated French players in La Liga history, with four titles each. Raphaël Varane and Ferland Mendy have won three La Liga titles with Real Madrid. In total, 27 French players have won the La Liga title during their professional careers. However, none of them have ever won the title with two different clubs (12 with Barcelona, 11 with Real Madrid, and 4 with Atlético Madrid).
