15,000 fans banned from attending the Club World Cup

Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich delivered to the US Embassy in Buenos Aires a list of more than 15,000 fans who will be barred from stadiums during the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13. Bullrich explained during a press conference that this step comes within the framework of security cooperation between the two countries to ensure the tournament proceeds with the highest levels of discipline and safety, saying: "The list includes more than 15,000 fans who will be barred from entering stadiums. It is extremely important for us to prevent anyone involved in any crime in Argentine stadiums from attending this major sporting event." The list was compiled through the "Tribuna Segura" program, a security system used to monitor people banned from stadiums in Argentina due to violations or involvement in sports violence and hooliganism. "Since the beginning of this government's term, Tribuna Segura has monitored more than four million people across 1,328 matches. We have identified 1,166 people who have been issued arrest warrants, and we have issued more than 40 administrative bans from stadiums," Bullrich added. Argentina will be represented in the expanded tournament by Boca Juniors and River Plate, along with 30 clubs from around the world. Boca Juniors has been drawn in Group C, which also includes Bayern Munich.
