Surprise: Riyad Mahrez returns to City again!

In a historic achievement for Saudi club Al-Ahli Jeddah, Algerian star Riyad Mahrez led the team to its first-ever AFC Champions League title, delivering exceptional performances that reflect his status among the world's top players. Mahrez excelled in the Asian tournament, contributing significantly to 17 goals (9 goals and 8 assists), making him one of the most prominent players on the team that scored 34 goals in the competition. However, it appears that Mahrez's amazing career with Al-Ahly may be about to take a new turn, as reports have revealed that Manchester City is seeking to re-sign the Algerian player for a short period to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13. Reports indicate that Mahrez, who has shown a strong comeback in recent months with Al-Ahly, has expressed enthusiasm for the idea and has already begun advanced negotiations with City to complete the deal. With Manchester City's attacking line waning in terms of creativity, Mahrez appears to be the ideal choice to bolster the team for this major tournament. If the deal is completed, Mahrez will be ready to return to the team where he spent five years (2018-2023), during which he won 11 titles, including the 2023 Champions League and four Premier League titles. However, the final decision, as always, rests with the Al-Ahly management, who will decide whether he returns to City or continues his impressive performances with the Saudi team.
