Medical negligence or the judiciary? The secrets of Maradona's death!

In a remarkable development in the case of the death of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona, the director of the clinic where the late star underwent surgery just two weeks before his death revealed a shocking revelation, confirming that Maradona had been consuming alcohol during his recovery period, which exacerbated his health condition and thwarted subsequent care efforts at home. During his testimony in court, Dr. Dimitrov, the medical director of the Olivos clinic, revealed that surgeon Leopoldo Luque—one of the seven defendants in the case—was the one who requested a space be prepared for the delicate surgery Maradona underwent in early November 2020, after a hematoma was discovered between his skull and brain. Despite undergoing a delicate operation and remaining in intensive care until November 11, Maradona was transferred to a private home to recover, where he was later found dead on November 25 at the age of 60, under circumstances that remain suspicious. The prosecution based the indictment on "gross negligence" in home care, considering it a primary cause of his deteriorating condition. A cardiologist testified that he strongly opposed Maradona's discharge from the clinic, given his precarious condition at the time. In his dramatic testimony, Dimitrov indicated that the surgery itself was not the cause of death, but rather that Maradona's lack of discipline after leaving the clinic—including drinking alcohol—made him "unmanageable" and led to a rapid deterioration in his health. These statements are the latest in a series of accusations against Maradona's medical staff, amid an ongoing debate in Argentina over whether the legend's death was the result of medical negligence or an act of God.
