Official: Alexander-Arnold announces his departure from Liverpool

English star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool right-back, has officially announced his departure from the Reds at the end of the 2024-25 season, after a 20-year career with the club. The 26-year-old posted an emotional statement on his official X account, confirming the end of his journey with Liverpool, noting that the decision was one of the hardest of his life. Arnold said in his statement: "After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is the hardest decision I have had to make. I know many of you have wondered why or are disappointed that I haven't spoken about this until now, but my intention has always been to focus solely on the team's interests, which is winning the 20th title." He added: "This club has always been my world, from the academy to the first team, and the support and love I've received from everyone will forever be etched in my heart. But I've never experienced anything else before, and this decision was made out of a desire to take on a new challenge and step out of my comfort zone." He concluded: "I thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey – the coaches, teammates, staff, and the amazing fans. I've lived my childhood dreams here, and I'll always be grateful for every moment." Arnold has made 352 appearances for the first team, scoring 23 goals and providing 92 assists.
