Jurgen Klopp Regrets Missing Opportunity to Coach Real Madrid

Klopp Opens Up About Turning Down Real Madrid Coaching Role

Spanish newspaper Marca revealed the likely date for Real Madrid to officially announce the departure of coach Carlo Ancelotti and the appointment of Xabi Alonso in his place. The newspaper indicated that the last week of May will be decisive for the royal club, as it is expected that Ancelotti's transfer to the Brazilian national team will be announced, while the official announcement of Alonso's appointment as coach of the royal club will be made at the same time. These reports coincide with what was published by the Spanish newspaper Relevo, which confirmed that the Bayer Leverkusen management does not oppose Xabi Alonso's departure to Real Madrid. According to the newspaper, Ancelotti will announce his departure from the team in the coming days, paving the way for Alonso to join Los Blancos. In another development, the newspaper indicated that German coach Jurgen Klopp regrets rejecting Real Madrid's offer earlier. The newspaper explained that Klopp had expressed doubts about returning to coaching after his time with Liverpool, which led him to reject the offer from the Spanish club. Spanish media outlets have confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti's move to the Brazilian national team is almost certain, given the ongoing agreement with Xabi Alonso, who will succeed him as team captain.
