Xavi on the verge of a new station in Germany

German club Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly seriously considering signing former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez to lead the team next season, replacing Xabi Alonso, who is expected to leave to coach Real Madrid. Xavi, who left Barcelona in the summer of 2024 after a tumultuous end to his relationship with the club, has not coached a team since then. Despite receiving notable offers, most notably from Manchester United and Roma, he preferred to take a break and stay away from the spotlight for a year. According to the German newspaper "Kicker," Leverkusen's management sees Xavi as a suitable choice to lead the next stage, given his technical style, international experience, and ability to communicate with players thanks to his fluency in English. The newspaper indicated that the club has already contacted people close to the Spanish coach and has not received an explicit rejection so far, which increases the likelihood of a deal. However, Xavi is not the only candidate, as other names are being circulated on the board, including Dutchman Erik ten Hag, the former Manchester United coach, and Imanol Alguacil, the Real Sociedad coach.
