Amir Mortada Reveals Surprise Clause in Zizo’s Contract

Zamalek's Amir Mortada Discloses Unexpected Detail in Zizo Deal
Amir Mortada Mansour, the former supervisor of the Egyptian club Zamalek football team, revealed during his appearance on the program "Al-Koura Ma' Fayek" (The Football with Fayek), the details of the player Ahmed Mostafa Zizo's contract with the club. His contract extended for three seasons for a total value of 55 million Egyptian pounds. According to the disclosure, the contract includes 15 million pounds in the first season, while the player received 40 million pounds, 20 million pounds in each of the second and third seasons. Amir Mortada Mansour defended the management of contracts during his tenure with Zamalek, stressing that he succeeded in making several distinguished deals that contributed to strengthening the team's ranks. Amir Mortada Mansour said in televised statements on MBC Masr 2: "When I contract with Ben Sharqi for $400,000, Zizo for $200,000, Imam Ashour for 12 million pounds, and Ferjani Sassi for free, and with the help of Turki Al-Sheikh, of course, where is the waste of money?" He added: "Khaled Boutaib is a player I expected to succeed, but he didn't. I strive to save money so it's not wasted. This happens all over the world. It also happened with Al Ahly when Koller's contract was terminated, and the coach stuck by his contract." He continued: "All over the world, the same reasons for failure are the same reasons for success. In other words, when I signed Zizo, Imam Ashour, and Ben Sharqi, the latter of whom wasn't playing for Al Hilal and was on loan to a club in the second division in France, I expected him to succeed with Zamalek, and he did." He pointed out that the deals made were strategic aimed at improving the team's overall performance, while stressing that the amounts spent were comparable to contracts with other clubs such as Al Ahly. Amir Mortada explains the behind-the-scenes of the Khaled Boutaib crisis Amir Mortada Mansour confirmed that a number of players were signed during his tenure with the club for reasonable sums, despite the criticism directed at some of the deals. He added, "In the first season, 2018, we won two Confederation Cups and the Saudi Super Cup. The first player I negotiated with was Ferjani Sassi. The total deals cost me 109 million Egyptian pounds, while Al Ahly signed players for 202 million Egyptian pounds in the same year." He concluded his statement by saying, "In the following season, 2019-2020, I signed players for 120 million and 323 thousand Egyptian pounds, including foreign players, while Al Ahly signed players for 119 million and 319 thousand Egyptian pounds, meaning almost the same amount, but they spent higher amounts in dollars."
