Arnold’s Condition to Join Real Madrid for the Club World Cup

What Stands Between Arnold and Real Madrid’s Club World Cup Squad?

Spanish media reports have revealed the sole condition for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s current right-back, to participate with his expected new team, Real Madrid, in the FIFA Club World Cup. The player is expected to join the Spanish capital club on a free transfer after his contract with the English side expires this summer.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, there is a possibility for Arnold to take part in the Club World Cup with Real Madrid, but it is conditional on Liverpool’s approval. The only requirement is that Real Madrid must obtain official permission from Liverpool to complete the player's registration during the special transfer window, which will open on June 1 and run through June 10.

Although Liverpool has not yet announced a final decision regarding Arnold’s future, the club has confirmed contract renewals for both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. Alexander-Arnold’s market value is estimated at around €70 million; however, Real Madrid would benefit from acquiring the player on a free transfer.

Nonetheless, the deal is expected to have a significant impact on Arnold’s salary, which is reported to reach €8 million per year on a five-year contract, according to Marca.
While this transfer represents a financial challenge for Real Madrid, it is also seen as a major reinforcement for the club’s defense, given Arnold’s outstanding technical and tactical abilities.
