Rudiger is threatened with a severe penalty

Spanish media reported that German defender Antonio Rüdiger, a Real Madrid player, faces a lengthy suspension following his expulsion in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, which Barça won 3-2. According to AS, the match, which took place on Saturday evening, saw three Real Madrid players sent off: Antonio Rüdiger, Lucas Vázquez, and Jude Bellingham, amid difficult circumstances for the royal team. The newspaper explained that the expected punishment for Rüdiger could be the harshest, as it indicated that referee Ricardo de Burgos Beguetxea's report stated that the defender threw an object from the technical area towards the referee, but that it did not hit him. Marca, for its part, quoted the official report as saying that Rüdiger displayed "aggressive behavior," which necessitated his immediate expulsion from the match. It indicated that the punishment could be imposed under Article 101 of the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary code, which classifies the behavior as a "serious violation." According to expectations, Rüdiger could miss between four and 12 matches, meaning he'll miss the final rounds of the Spanish league and could extend into the upcoming El Clásico.
