Al Nassr Secures a Spot in the Elite Champions League Final Four After Impressive Victory

Saudi club Al Nassr secured a well-deserved qualification to the semi-finals of the Elite AFC Champions League after a sweeping 4-1 victory over Japan’s Yokohama F. Marinos, in a match held on Saturday as part of the tournament's quarter-finals.

Al Nassr opened the scoring in the first half through player John Duran, who netted the first goal in the 27th minute. His teammate Sadio Mane doubled the lead in the 31st minute, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the third goal in the 38th minute.

In the second half, Duran scored his second personal goal and the fourth for Al Nassr in the 49th minute, while Kota Watanabe reduced the deficit for Yokohama by scoring their only goal in the 53rd minute.

However, Watanabe was sent off in the 73rd minute after a violent challenge, forcing Yokohama to complete the match with ten players.

Saudi Arabia is hosting the final stages of the Elite AFC Champions League for the 2024-2025 sports season, with the matches scheduled between April 25 and May 3.

Al Nassr will face the winner of the match between Qatar's Al Sadd and Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale, which is set to take place on Sunday evening, in the semi-final.

Al Nassr had previously reached the quarter-finals after defeating Iran’s Esteghlal with an aggregate score of 3-0 in the Round of 16.
