Last-Minute Heroics Crown Barcelona Champions of Spain After Intense El Clasico Battle

Barcelona captured the Copa del Rey title for the 2024-2025 season after an exciting 3-2 victory over their traditional rivals Real Madrid, in a fiery El Clasico showdown hosted at the "La Cartuja" Stadium in Seville on Saturday evening.

Barcelona strengthened their dominance over El Clasico this season by achieving their third consecutive win against Real Madrid, having previously triumphed 4-0 in La Liga and 5-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final.

The match began in Barcelona’s favor, with Pedri opening the scoring in the 22nd minute, allowing the Catalans to end the first half leading 1-0.

At the start of the second half, Real Madrid introduced their star returning from injury, Kylian Mbappé, who quickly equalized with a goal in the 70th minute. Aurélien Tchouaméni then scored the second goal for Madrid in the 77th minute, bringing them closer to the title.

However, Barcelona refused to surrender and managed to level the score in the 84th minute through Ferran Torres, pushing the match into extra time.

In the decisive moments of the second extra period, defender Jules Koundé struck the winning goal in the 116th minute, gifting Barcelona a thrilling victory and further cementing their historic legacy.

With this achievement, Barcelona raised their record to 32 Copa del Rey titles, strengthening their position as the club with the most wins in the tournament’s history.
