Al Nassr Avenges Yokohama After 33 Years

Historic Revenge: Al Nassr Defeats Yokohama After Three Decades
Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia avenged their past defeat against Japan’s Yokohama, securing a 4-1 victory in their clash on Saturday evening at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, during the quarter-finals of the AFC Elite Champions League.
With this triumph, Al Nassr took revenge for their historic loss to the Japanese side in the 1992 Asian Cup Winners' Cup final, where they had drawn 1-1 in the first leg but suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat in the second leg.
This victory was not just about settling old scores; it also marked a major achievement for "Al-Alami" as they booked their place in the semi-finals, continuing their strong campaign in the first edition of the newly formatted continental tournament.
On the other hand, Yokohama’s defeat ended their hopes of reaching the final for the second consecutive year.
Al Nassr now awaits a strong challenge in the semi-finals, where they will face the winner between Qatar’s Al Sadd and Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale, in a much-anticipated match set to take place next Wednesday at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
