Manchester United are the closest to signing the Wolverhampton striker
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in transfer news, revealed that Manchester United are in serious negotiations with Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in preparation for signing him during the next summer transfer window. According to Romano, Manchester United is leading the race to sign Cunha and is the closest to signing him so far. He added that the Red Devils' management held an initial meeting with the player's representatives to discuss personal terms, and the talks were positive and encouraging. Romano indicated that the player's contract with Wolverhampton has a release clause of £62.5 million, which Manchester United is prepared to activate if a final agreement is reached with the player. This move comes as Manchester United seeks to rebuild and strengthen its ranks in preparation for next season, following a disappointing season both domestically and in Europe. Matheus Cunha, 25, joined Wolverhampton from Atletico Madrid in 2023 and has succeeded in establishing himself as a key player in the team. He participated in 31 matches this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 4 assists.
