The Europa League anthem was played by mistake... What's the story?

Confusion reigned before the start of Aston Villa's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, after the Europa League anthem was mistakenly played as the players line up. Television footage showed Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa covering his face and shaking his head after speaking to a teammate while the erroneous anthem was played. About a minute later, the Champions League anthem was played at Villa Park, as the players prepared for kick-off. Prince William, the heir to the throne and a Villa supporter, was in attendance. Aston Villa are competing in their first Champions League season, having previously participated in the competition as the European Cup holders in 1982-1983.
