Manchester United striker's season ends

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is facing the prospect of missing the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United. According to media reports, including the BBC, the 23-year-old will be sidelined for several weeks, with the severity of the injury doubtful. Zirkzee, who was substituted in the second half, received medical attention on the pitch before being escorted off by the club's medical staff, raising concerns about his fitness, especially as the team approaches crucial matches in the Europa League and the Premier League. United manager Ruben Amorim is expected to provide an official update on the player's condition during his press conference on Wednesday, ahead of the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Olympique Lyonnais. Speaking after the match, Amorim said: "We had to make changes due to the pressure of the matches and trying to recover in just two days. But we are also focused on winning the next game. Joshua will probably miss some matches, so we have to focus on what's next." Zirkzee, who joined Manchester United from Bologna, has been impressive in recent weeks, making his potential absence a significant loss for the team at a crucial stage of the season.
