Huge financial gains await Barcelona

Spanish press reports revealed huge financial gains awaiting Barcelona if they qualify for the Champions League semi-finals, where they will meet Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening in the second leg of the quarter-finals. Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that financially, it doesn't matter whether Barcelona wins, draws, or loses against Borussia Dortmund, unlike in the league stage of the Champions League, where each win was worth €2.1 million, and a draw was worth €700,000. The newspaper added that in the knockout stages, UEFA only awards financial bonuses to those who advance to the next round, with qualification to the semi-finals worth €15 million. The newspaper indicated that for Barcelona, this bonus will be fully included in the 2024-2025 season's profits, given that the club's budget assumed only reaching the quarter-finals, as is the norm every season. To date, Barça has collected €101.563 million from UEFA, excluding ticket sales from matches played at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, which could host a top-of-the-range clash on April 29 or 30 against Inter Milan or Bayern Munich.
