Threatening Ronaldo's record... Rafinha shines in the Champions League

Barcelona's Brazilian winger, Raphinha, continued his impressive form in the current edition of the Champions League, leading the Catalan club to victory over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals. Raphinha scored one goal and provided two assists in the Catalan team's 4-0 victory over their German guest in the first leg of the quarter-finals on Thursday evening. With these numbers, the Brazilian international tops the list of players with the most goal contributions in the Champions League in the current 2024-25 season, bringing his tally to 19 goals, with 12 goals and seven assists so far. The Barcelona star is close to equaling the best-scoring season in the prestigious European competition, as Raphinha needs only three more goal contributions. The best scoring season to date went to the Champions League's all-time top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward contributed 22 goals (17 goals and five assists) in the 2013-14 season as Real Madrid won the tenth title against rivals Atletico Madrid in the final. Robert Lewandowski comes in second place, with the Polish striker scoring 21 goals (15 goals and six assists) as Bayern Munich won the Champions League in the 2019-20 season.
