Yamal writes new history in the Champions League

Young talent Lamine Yamal led his team Barcelona to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, after repeating their 3-1 victory over hosts Benfica, Portugal, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the competition, after winning the first leg 1-0. The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Lamine Yamal shone during Barcelona's 3-1 victory over Benfica, by scoring a goal and providing an assist, becoming the youngest player to score and assist a goal in the same Champions League match. The newspaper indicated that at the age of 17 years and 241 days, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to score and assist a goal in the same Champions League match, surpassing the previous record set by Breel Embolo with Basel against Ludogorets Razgrad in 2014 (17 years and 263 days). Barcelona will await the winner of the match between Borussia Dortmund and Lille in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the first leg ending in a 1-1 draw.
