United plans to play in the Europa League for 4 seasons

The British newspaper "The Telegraph" revealed a shocking surprise regarding Manchester United's plans for the coming years, as the club is studying the possibility of participating in the European League for the next four years, instead of playing in the Champions League. According to the newspaper, Manchester United's management has taken into account the possibility of not qualifying for European competitions this season. It added that the club announced last week that it would lay off 200 additional jobs, in addition to 250 jobs that were reduced last summer, as part of its ongoing efforts to cut costs, after recording pre-tax losses of 313 million pounds over the past three seasons. The newspaper also explained that the club's future budget was prepared based on the assumption of qualifying for the European League during the next four seasons, which is a major shift from the previous approach, where financial expectations were based on reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League. Reports indicated that this trend has raised a state of concern among employees, who fear the potential financial impacts, and the resulting additional job cuts, if the team fails to qualify for any European tournament this season. However, the newspaper confirmed that the club had taken into consideration the scenario of not participating in Europe next season, and included that in its future financial plans.
