Liverpool continue record run in the Premier League

Liverpool, led by Dutch coach Arne Slot, recorded many distinctive numbers after strengthening their lead in the English Premier League in the current 2024-2025 season by 13 points over their closest pursuers, Arsenal. The Reds defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in the match that took place at Anfield Stadium in the 27th round of the Premier League. The global statistics network "Opta" stated that Liverpool have not lost in 24 matches in the English Premier League (won 17 and drew 7), which is now the third longest streak in its history in the Premier League, behind a streak of 31 matches from May 1987 to March 1988 and 44 matches from January 2019 to February 2020. The Reds have also kept more clean sheets in Premier League competitions this season than any other team (12), although this is the first time they have kept a clean sheet in a row in the competition since a streak of four matches between May and September 2024.
