Criminal complaint against Mourinho in Turkey

Galatasaray have announced their intention to take legal action against Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho over his insulting remarks against the Turkish people.
The club said in an official statement that they will file complaints with both FIFA and UEFA after Mourinho's comments following Fenerbahce's goalless draw with Galatasaray in the Turkish Super League on Monday.
Mourinho had described Galatasaray's bench as "jumping like monkeys" after an early challenge, adding that the match was better off not being managed by a Turkish referee.
In its statement, Galatasaray noted that Mourinho has repeatedly made insulting remarks against the Turkish people since taking over as Fenerbahce coach in June 2024. The club also considered Mourinho's comments to have gone beyond immoral statements and amounted to inhumane speech.
Galatasaray confirmed in its statement that it is taking legal steps against the racist statements made by Mourinho, indicating that it will file complaints with FIFA and UEFA. The club described Mourinho's behavior as "reprehensible", while pointing out that its competitor Fenerbahce is keen to "adhere to moral values".
Galatasaray published its statement on its official website under the title "Say No to Racism".
