Ancelotti: Facing City is difficult and complicated

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that his team has a slight advantage over Manchester City, after winning the first leg 3-2, ahead of the second leg of the 2024-25 Champions League play-off, scheduled for Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti said in the press conference for the match: "It's an enjoyable, complicated and difficult match. We're trying to prepare well for it and recover the players. The idea is to perform the same, taking into account all the difficulties in this type of match. It's a decisive match in which we play everything in 90 minutes." The Italian coach added: "Being superior in the first leg is a psychological issue that we take into account. It's happened a lot, but it's also difficult to correct. If you say you're going to treat the match as if it were 0-0, that's nonsense, no one will believe you, because a 2-3 result you can't change. What you can change is the way the match is played, not making calculations. But you can't forget that you have an advantage." "We don't think we have 99 per cent. We think we have a small advantage, we will take it and play the same way we did in the first leg, which was successful," Ancelotti explained. The Italian coach spoke about Kylian Mbappe, saying: "He is motivated, physically fit, and it shows... He deals with the tension well before the game, he is very calm. He has a good ability to manage pressure. He is doing well at the moment."
