Salah outperforms in contributions, Mbappe and Dembele lead 2025

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé is the second highest scorer in 2025, after adding a new goal to his tally in his team's match against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 play-off. Despite missing a chance in the first half, Mbappé managed to score in the last minute, as the ball was not well-crafted but went into the goal amidst laughter from the French player. The match ended with Real Madrid winning 3-2. With this result, Mbappé raised his tally to 10 goals since the beginning of the new year 2025, to occupy second place in the list of top scorers of the year. In comparison to the top players in major leagues, there is only one player who has scored more than him in the same period. That player is the Frenchman Ousmane Dembele, the top scorer in the French league and a player for Paris Saint-Germain, who scored 15 goals in 2025, occupying first place on the list. Dembele scored twice in Paris Saint-Germain's 3-0 victory over Brest. Although Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has the most goal contributions this season with 44, Mbappe and Dembele dominate the top scorers list for 2025 so far.
