As for Lionel Messi, he dropped to fourth place with a weekly salary of 865 thousand pounds, outperforming Senegalese Sadio Mane, star of Saudi Al-Nasr (650 thousand pounds), and Algerian Riyad Mahrez, star of Saudi Al-Ahly (580 thousand pounds). Norwegian Erling Haaland, who recently signed a new contract with Manchester City, came in seventh place with a weekly salary of 500 thousand pounds, confirming the difficulty of competing with the stars of the Saudi League on a financial level.
