Mbappe rape allegations investigation closed permanently

The Swedish prosecution announced the closure of the investigation into the rape case related to the visit of the French national team captain and Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappé, to Stockholm last October, due to "insufficient evidence". Prosecutor Marina Chirakova confirmed in a statement: "My assessment is that the evidence is insufficient to continue, and therefore the investigation has been closed." She explained that the person targeted by the investigation had not been notified of the suspicion of committing any crime. The incidents date back to October 10, when Mbappé was staying at a hotel in the Swedish capital, where a complaint was filed two days later by the alleged victim. Mbappé denied the allegations, describing the case as "fake news" and confirming that it was related to a previous financial dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain. The closure of the case refocuses the focus on Mbappé's sporting career away from these allegations, especially after his brilliance in the Champions League with Real Madrid.
