Luke Shaw injured again after returning to the pitch
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has suffered a fresh injury blow less than two weeks after returning to action, adding to his injury-prone career. The 29-year-old has missed most of the year with a series of injuries, the latest of which is a new injury he sustained in training, which could keep him out for several weeks. Shaw missed the start of the season with a calf problem and, after recovering, came on as a substitute in United's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on November 24, as well as two other matches. But the latest injury has been a fresh blow, with Shaw describing it as a "little setback" and expressing his frustration at the ongoing challenges. Speaking on social media, Shaw said the period has been the most difficult of his career, saying: "I've had a lot of ups and downs but this has definitely been the hardest period for me. I'm completely devastated, it's very difficult to adjust to reality at the moment." Manchester United, who are ninth in the Premier League, have a key match against second-placed Arsenal later on Wednesday as they look to get back to winning ways despite Shaw's expected absence.
