Manchester fans protest ticket price hike

Despite Manchester United's 4-0 win over Everton, Old Trafford witnessed angry protests from fans due to the increase in ticket prices. In a protest organized by the Football Supporters' Association, dozens gathered in front of the Trinity Statue against the club's decision to increase ticket prices to £66 (about €80) for all age groups, including children. The fans considered the increase surprising and unjustified, and accused the club's management, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS, of exploitation, noting that the decision is similar to the policies of the former Jays family. This increase also included all ages, after tickets for regular fans were sold for £40 and children's tickets for £25. According to the Daily Mail, the protest was not limited to Manchester United fans only, as Everton, Liverpool, and Manchester City fans joined the demonstrations, raising the slogan "Stop the exploitation." Manchester United are ninth in the 2024-2025 Premier League table with 19 points. This is the first win for Manchester United in the Premier League under the leadership of new Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, who took over the task from Dutchman Erik ten Hag.
