Van Dijk raises doubts about Liverpool future

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has spoken about his future with the club, especially since his current contract expires in the summer of 2025, and he has not yet reached an agreement to renew it. English press reports had previously indicated that Liverpool had agreed with its captain Virgil van Dijk to sign a new contract to continue his career with the team, which began in January 2018. The Liverpool defender told the Dutch network "Viaplay Sport" that there was nothing new regarding the renewal file for his contract with the English club. The Dutch star explained in his statements, saying: "There is no update, so I have nothing to share with you." He added in his speech: "If you read reports about agreements that have been made or no agreements, then all of this is not true. Of course, there are ongoing talks.. but at the moment I have nothing to share." Van Dijk, 33, joined Liverpool in January 2018 from Southampton, in a record deal at the time worth 85 million euros.
