Former Arsenal star narrowly escapes death

Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has narrowly escaped death after being stabbed in New York City, according to reports. The Daily Mail reported that former Arsenal star Nicklas Bendtner escaped being stabbed in a horrific incident after a knife-wielding assailant attacked the group accompanying the former Danish striker during his visit to New York. The newspaper reported that the former Danish striker, who scored 47 goals in 171 appearances for Arsenal, was in the United States on a tour of the big city last week when what was supposed to be a casual walk in the streets turned into a moment of true terror. Surveillance camera footage showed Bendtner and his companions strolling through the posh Upper West Side of Manhattan on Wednesday just seconds before a man armed with a knife approached them. The bearded man, wearing shorts and a T-shirt, can be seen running towards visitors with a knife in his left hand. He was then seen fleeing the scene, and Bendtner later revealed that another member of the group, also a former professional footballer, was stabbed and subsequently taken to hospital. The 55-year-old stabbing victim was treated for facial and ear injuries, while the attacker was later arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault.
