Amorim: Manchester United players are scared!
Manchester United's new manager Ruben Amorim has admitted that his players were "scared" during their first game under him, a 1-1 draw at Ipswich on Sunday evening in the Premier League. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring early in the second minute, but Ipswich quickly recovered and equalised through Omari Hutchinson before half-time. Speaking after the match, Amorim suggested that his players showed some fear in the first half, saying: "If you watch the first half, you can see that they were a bit scared, there were tactical situations that we couldn't deal with well because of the lack of preparation time." The Portuguese coach explained that he had not had enough time to work with the players after the international break, which affected the team's readiness. Amorim added: "We had to deal with the high pressure in a better way, and we need more time to improve in that aspect. The players really tried, but we need to work on new ideas and improve the team's performance in the upcoming games." Manchester United are preparing for their next Europa League match against Bodo Glimt on Thursday, which will be Amorim's first game at Old Trafford. The team then faces Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
