Saint-Germain escalates its financial dispute with Mbappe!
Paris Saint-Germain have entered into a legal dispute with their former striker Kylian Mbappé, after submitting an official request to the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation to discuss their financial dispute with the player, who moved to Real Madrid. Mbappé is demanding payment of financial dues worth 55 million euros, including salaries and bonuses that were not paid to him during his time at the Parisian club. Last September, the French Football League issued a decision obligating Saint-Germain to pay the amount, after mediation by the League's legal committee between the two parties, but the club refused to implement the decision and appealed the ruling, facing confirmation of the decision in October from the Appeals Committee. Despite this, Paris Saint-Germain did not respond to the payment request, which has now prompted it to turn to the French Federation. A source from the Parisian club's management explained that this procedure is a last attempt to resolve the dispute within the Federation, instead of resorting to external courts, which may take a long time. The dispute goes back to an agreement made in August 2023 between Mbappé and the club, which includes the player waiving part of his bonuses in exchange for being allowed to leave for free at the end of the season, which the player now considers non-binding after his move to Real Madrid. The request is still "under process," according to informed sources, while expectations indicate that it may be rejected by the French Federation, which may lead to an escalation of the legal dispute between the two parties in the coming period.
