Ronaldo comments on the challenge of reaching the 1000th goal
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded the Platinum Quina by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) in recognition of his 200th cap for the national team. Speaking at the event, the 39-year-old spoke about his illustrious career and future ambitions. “When I joined the national team at 18, I had a simple dream: to play my first game, then I dreamed of reaching 25, then 50. Then I thought: why not 100? Now, after reaching 200, I feel very happy,” Ronaldo said. The Portuguese star added that despite winning numerous awards, including the Champions League and the Golden Ball, “representing the national team remains the greatest achievement.” He said: “Nothing is like the feeling of representing your country in front of the world. It is a wonderful feeling to reflect your culture and history while representing all your fellow countrymen, from your family to your closest friends.” He also spoke about his personal challenge of scoring 1,000 goals in his career, saying: “I was responsible for that goal, but at the moment, I deal with my life differently. I live in the moment and enjoy everything I do. If I reach a thousand goals, that's great, and if I can't reach that, I'm proud of what I've achieved. There is no player who has scored more goals than me.”
