Ancelotti: We need to learn from the defeat!

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance in the first half of the Clasico against Barcelona despite the heavy 4-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti pointed out, during the press conference following the match, that the team had an equal performance in the first half, as they had several scoring opportunities, including a goal disallowed for Kylian Mbappe due to offside after a VAR review, while Real Madrid players fell into the offside trap 12 times, half of which went to Mbappe. Ancelotti explained that despite a strong performance in the first 45 minutes, the second half saw a decline in the team's energy and confidence, which allowed Barcelona more opportunities to score, as Robert Lewandowski opened the score with a quick double in the 54th and 56th minutes, followed by two additional goals from Yamin Lamal and Rafinha. "The first half was good and we have to build on it, as the first 60 minutes were clear, and we have to forget the last 30 minutes," said Ancelotti, stressing the need to continue working to improve performance and learn lessons from this defeat. He added that the team will not give up but will try to reduce the gap with leaders Barcelona, who are now 6 points ahead, stressing that the season is still long with 27 rounds remaining. The Italian coach concluded: "We will try to come back stronger, the season is still in its early stages, and there are many opportunities to make up for it and develop."
