Ronaldo scores 200th Portugal start

Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo played his 200th match as a starter for the Portugal national team, during the fourth round of the European Nations League, adding a new achievement to his illustrious career. Ronaldo has recorded 215 international matches with his country, where he played as a substitute in only 16 matches since the beginning of his career with Portugal, starting with the preparatory stage for the 2004 European Championship. In the course of his international career, Ronaldo participated as a substitute in 8 of his first 9 matches with the national team, where he faced the national teams of Kazakhstan, England, Italy, Sweden, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Greece, and Russia. The Albania match was the only match in which he played as a starter during that period. The Portuguese star also participated as a substitute in several matches, including matches against South Africa, Mozambique, and Andorra. All eyes were on him in 2024, where he played as a starter in all of Portugal’s matches in the European Championship held in Germany. The Portuguese Football Federation said in an official statement that Ronaldo played his 200th match against Scotland, 21 years and 4 days after his first start with the Portuguese national team, which was against Albania on October 11, 2003. This achievement reflects Ronaldo's continued brilliance and loyalty to his country's national team, making him one of the greatest football players in history.
