Portugal coach: Ronaldo doesn't look 39

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez has said that star player Cristiano Ronaldo "doesn't play like a 39-year-old". This came during a press conference in Glasgow, on the eve of Portugal's clash with Scotland in the European Nations League. Martinez said: "Cristiano doesn't work like a 39-year-old, and he certainly doesn't play like a player of that age." When asked about the crowds Ronaldo causes wherever he visits, he described it as a "unique situation" that "everyone should enjoy". Martinez pointed out that Ronaldo is an iconic figure, considering that his goals and titles make him an example to follow. Martinez also warned of the danger of the Scottish national team, stating that they are "a team that is improving a lot and is confident in what they are doing", recalling their 2-0 win over Spain in March 2023. It is worth noting that Portugal are leading Group A in the European Nations League, and had beaten Scotland 2-1 last September.
