Portugal coach: Ronaldo's place not guaranteed

Roberto Martinez, coach of the Portuguese national team, revealed the reason for his substitution of star Cristiano Ronaldo, the striker for Saudi club Al-Nassr, during the match against the Polish national team, yesterday, Saturday. Ronaldo scored Portugal's second goal against Poland, during the match that the European Brazil won by three goals to one, in the European Nations League. Roberto Martinez was asked about replacing Ronaldo in press statements: "This is part of our management of the players, because we play two matches in 72 hours." He continued in his statements, saying: "Diego Jota, Ronaldo's substitute, performed very well. It is important to use substitutes. Cristiano is perfect now." "Ronaldo is the country's greatest ambassador, but that doesn't give him a permanent place in the Portuguese national team," he continued.
