Manchester United identify Ten Hag's replacement
Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Thomas Tuchel as a replacement for Erik ten Hag as manager, after holding talks with the former Chelsea boss in the summer. The club's decision-makers have decided to keep faith in the Dutchman, extending his contract by one year until 2026 and giving him £200m in the summer transfer window. According to the Manchester Evening News, United are preparing a fresh attempt to appoint Tuchel as a replacement for the 54-year-old. The Red Devils have won just two of their opening seven Premier League games, scoring just five goals, leaving them in 14th place. In the Europa League, Ten Hag's side have failed to win either of their opening two games against Twente and Porto, slipping from a 2-0 lead to draw 3-3 with the latter last week.
