The Opta network reported that Lewandowski is the second player in the history of the Champions League to score more than 50 goals after reaching the age of thirty, as he reached 51 goals after Cristiano Ronaldo's 68 goals. The Catalan team achieved its first victory in the Champions League during the current 2024-2025 season, after losing in the first round to its host, the French team Monaco, with two goals to one. Barcelona will host its counterpart, the German team Bayern Munich, in the third round of the Champions League in a revenge match.
