Indian club refuses to play in Iran!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has said that Indian club Mohun Bagan Super Giants will not travel to Iran for their AFC Champions League 2 match against Tractor Sazi due to security concerns in the region. The Indian team were due to play Tractor Sazi at the Yadegar Imam Stadium in Tabriz in Group A on Wednesday. "The matter will be referred to the relevant AFC committees and further updates will be announced in due course," the AFC said on its website. Indian media reported that the team could face a fine and possibly a ban from the AFC Champions League 2, with players and coaches reportedly expressing concerns over security. Iran fired a barrage of ballistic missiles into Israel on Tuesday in retaliation for Israel's campaign against the Lebanese Hezbollah group, an ally of Tehran, and Israel has vowed "consequences" for the attack.
