Bayern Munich have announced that England international striker Harry Kane has suffered an ankle injury. The German league leaders released a statement revealing the nature of the England captain's injury, saying: "Harry Kane suffered a painful blow to his ankle during Saturday's Bundesliga top-of-the-table match against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1)." The statement continued: "Tests carried out by the FC Bayern Munich medical department on Sunday have shown a positive development and Kane continues to receive intensive treatment." Harry Kane was substituted in the 86th minute of the Leverkusen match, with Thomas Müller taking his place. The English star has contributed to 10 goals for the Bavarians this season, including five in the league, one in the German Cup and four in the Champions League, all of which were scored in Bayern's 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb. Bayern Munich lead the Bundesliga with 13 points from five matches, two points ahead of second-placed RB Leipzig and three ahead of third-placed title holders Bayer Leverkusen.
