Arsenal leads the Premier League clubs with a negative number!
Arsenal have been heavily criticised after their 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The Daily Mail reported that the team, under manager Mikel Arteta, had adopted a slow-motion approach, much to the dismay of City's players. According to statistics, Arsenal were listed as the Premier League's biggest time-wasters, after being accused of using stalling tactics in the match. As Arsenal tried to protect their lead in the second half, John Stones scored a late equaliser. Several Manchester City players, including Kyle Walker, expressed their displeasure at the piecemeal approach, suggesting it lacked sportsmanship. Opta analysis revealed that Arsenal were the most time-wasters in matches, with the highest rate of stoppages for corners, goal-kicks, free-kicks and throw-ins, raising questions about the integrity of the team's approach.
