Ter Stegen's injury revealed

Barcelona have announced the nature of the injury suffered by their German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, which will keep him out of action for a long time. Barcelona said in a statement on their X website: "Tests conducted on first-team player Marc ter Stegen have confirmed a complete tear in the patellar tendon in his right knee." The statement added: "He will undergo surgery on Monday afternoon, and once the operation is complete, a new update will be issued." Catalonia Radio confirmed that Ter Stegen's initial medical tests have shown that the German goalkeeper is now in danger of being out of action for more than eight months, which means that his season with Barça is over in a big way. Barcelona lead the Spanish league standings with 18 points, collected from winning six matches, scoring 22 goals and conceding 5.
